At the risk of causing yet another meltdown
across the road, let me preface this by restating the obvious:
• You don't have to post about it on CUK. It's just one man sharing his thoughts to any lurkers out there.
Now then.
Stroking the mods {the devil you know} is a much observed phenomenon. It can be embarrassing, like this example, particularly given the spectacular moderation fail we've just witnessed, or it can be... the best I can do is not embarrassing. Because a good mod won't become the story, unless the story is about a well run forum and why that might be.
If anyone thinks they can do a better job they should volunteer themselves instead of sniping from the sidelines!
People who want to be a mod should be very carefully vetted, preferably by someone who's been carefully vetted themselves. It's a recursive nightmare.
It would be a shame to have a blanket ban on the subjects of sex, politics and religion (as I believe cyclechat do)
CycleChat have set politics adrift on it's own little unmoderated island. This isn't that difficult to look up. I don't mean to be too hard on audaxjk, but even a minimum of research can improve a conversation.
